Teddy Bridgewater is heading back home.
The recently retired NFL quarterback has been named the new head coach at Miami Northwestern High School, according to The_Portal_305. Bridgewater was an All-American as a senior at Northwestern in 2010.
The move has been expected for more than a month. Northwestern moved on from Michaelee Harris after one season in November and Bridgewater said he planned to coach high school football when he announced his retirement in December.
Bridgewater will be the third Northwestern coach in as many seasons as the program looks for stability after firing state championship-winning coach Max Edwards before the 2023 season.
Bridgewater, 31, had a impressive career at Northwestern. He threw for 6,712 yards and 70 touchdowns in three seasons. He threw a Miami-Dade record seven touchdown passes against Hialeah-Miami Lakes in 2009.
