These might not be the faces Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran see in the mirror looking back at them.
The "Cruel Summer" singer and her longtime pal were both immortalized in wax at the Panoptikum museum in Hamburg, Germany, and reviews of the figures have been decidedly mixed.
"They look so off im crying," one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, Aug. 13. Another joked, "when ur mum says u have ed sheeran and taylor swift at home."
Some were concerned about the depiction of the "Shape of You" artist, noting, "Ed looks like his legs don't work like they used to before."
While another was surprised by Taylor's likeness—or lack thereof, writing, "Omg they did her so dirty."
Of course, there were some fans who were thrilled by the wax figures. "Honestly really good renditions!" a fan wrote on X. "Taylor's looks great!"
A second added, "I bet the figures are super realistic and a must-see for any Swifties or Sheerios visiting the museum. I'd love to see how realistic they turned out."
As for the Panoptikum—which is the oldest wax museum in Germany—they were excited to welcome their two newest figures, saying in a press release translated from German that they have, "a new celebrity roommate in the form of Taylor Swift."
"With the wax figure of Taylor Swift, we are welcoming an absolute superstar to the Panoptikum," Dr. Susanne Faerber, the Managing Director of the museum, explained. "August 13 is therefore a truly lucky day for our wax museum—although the number 13 is also of great importance to Taylor Swift herself and to her countless Swifties. We are delighted to be able to offer many people a special fan experience with their star."
And Ed's figure was especially important for the museum as it was the first one done for them by sculptor Lisa Büscher and her team. They worked on the sculpture for two years, with Ed also marking the first wax figure they have ever created.
"Of course, working with wax, a material that was previously unknown to me, was a great challenge for me and my team," Lisa said, "but Ed Sheeran's many tattoos were also a complicated and time-consuming feature of the project."
